My dad being a pastor, I grew up in the church quite literally. I have seen the inner workings of the church my whole life. I have lived in four different states mostly in the upper midwest. The most influential time in my life was my time in Valley City, North Dakota. They were my junior/senior high years. I grew a lot, physically, mentally, and spiritually. I learned much about the Church there and I was able to work in many different ministries. My favorite of these ministries was our annual Passion Play. I was able to use my gift very well. I ran the sound system for this. That falls right into my area of expertise, technology, especially that involving audio systems. I have always loved running sound for anything really, but especially Church. After high school, I went on to the Association Free Lutheran Bible School. There I was taught the Word of God by many godly men, both at the school and in the local congregation that I attended while there. I was also able to take a class on media ministry, which focused on the use of audio. Part of this class involved running sound for our weekly chapel services. During my time at Bible School I heard of this ministry opportunity called Parish Building. This is a ministry run through the AFLC Home Mission. What it involves is to take college-age adults, using those graduating from AFLBS, and place them in AFLC Home Mission churches. They are placed there to be an encouragement to the congregation and to minster to them and with them.
